LIGA MAC supports students and families through three core programs: Educational Support, Food Security & Nutrition, and Healthcare Assistance. Together, they help students stay in school, support families in crisis, and improve access to essential healthcare.

Educational Support
Goal
To overcome school dropout rates, especially at the high school level, by empowering more students to graduate and pursue higher education or technical careers, seamlessly connecting them to the formal workforce and transforming their families’ future.
• Core Component 1: Financial & Retention Support
Objective: To ease the economic burden on families at the beginning of the school year through the universal distribution of back-to-school vouchers for enrolled students.
• Activity: Back-to-School Voucher Delivery (tuition, uniforms, shoes, and school supplies).
• Core Component 2: Academic Enrichment & Remediation
Objective: To bridge learning gaps in Spanish language skills, math skills, and conversational English by providing mandatory after-school tutoring programs during the entire academic year.

• Core Component 3: Holistic Wellbeing & Health
Objective: To strengthen the students life skills and promote the biopsychosocial stability of their families through educational workshops and psychotherapeutic support.

Food Security & Nutrition Program (Despensa)
Goal
To support the families of our beneficiaries during times of crisis by ensuring they can put fresh and nutritious food on the table while they reorganize and resolve their situation. This intervention applies when a family’s primary breadwinner is unable to work due to a sudden, severe event (e.g., workplace accident, job loss, or a critical medical diagnosis).

Healthcare Assistance Program
Goal
To support beneficiaries’ families when navigating gaps or shortages within the national healthcare system regarding disease care and medical treatment.
- Services & Interventions:
Social work intervention and case-by-case funding or procurement for:
- Specialized medical consultations
- Medications
- Laboratory tests
- Diagnostic imaging (X-rays, CT scans, MRIs)
- Minor surgeries
