- Afternoons 3-6 pm, October - June flexible schedule based on time you have to give
- No teaching experience or Spanish required.
Be in the classroom to help students with pronunciation. You will be working with a qualified spanish speaking Teacher. Your encouragement and support can build confidence, improve communication skills, and create greater opportunities for academic and personal success.
Mentor a student
Help a student dream bigger and go further
- Minimum of intermediate spanish is required
- We will match you with a student
- Time commitment to be determined between you and the student.
One mentor can change the trajectory of a student’s life through consistent support and encouragement. Here is your opportunity to share your experience and offer guidance. Believing in a student’s potential, mentors help young people build confidence, overcome challenges, and make informed decisions about their future. A single supportive relationship can open doors to new opportunities and inspire a student to pursue goals they may never have thought possible.

Volunteer Voices
"Serving as a Liga MAC volunteer has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. As a facilitator in an ESL classroom, I was continually inspired by the students' dedication, enthusiasm, and genuine desire to learn English. Every Saturday morning the students arrived eager to learn, spend time with their friends, and make the most of every class. Although speaking Spanish wasn't a requirement, I was pleasantly surprised by how much my own limited Spanish improved through our interactions. Watching the students gain confidence, develop new skills, and celebrate their progress was incredibly fulfilling. I would highly recommend volunteering with Liga MAC to anyone looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others while receiving far more in return than they ever expected."
"When we first arrived in Cabo eighteen years ago, I wanted to give back. As a child psychologist, joining Liga MAC was a natural fit because of its commitment to helping children through education and opportunity.
Helping develop and lead the ESL program has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Over the years, we’ve helped hundreds of students strengthen their English skills, build confidence, and discover their potential in a safe, supportive environment.
Their enthusiasm, determination, and kindness are truly inspiring. Watching them grow in confidence, build lasting friendships, and celebrate their achievements reminds me why volunteering with Liga MAC has meant so much to me."
"I joined Liga MAC nearly 10 years ago after hearing an inspiring presentation about helping local students, and I’ve been involved ever since. Watching the organization grow from a small office into the vibrant Learning Center it is today has been incredible.
The center provides students with English classes, computers, guidance, and, most importantly, a place where they feel they belong.
Volunteering with Liga MAC has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Whether you can give a few hours or more, every contribution makes a real difference—and the rewards far outweigh the effort.”
"My parents never had the opportunity to pursue more than an elementary education. With their support, I became the first in our family to earn a university degree, opening doors I never imagined.
Education changed the trajectory of my life.
For the past nine years, I have proudly volunteered with Liga MAC—in the classroom, through fundraising, and as Board President for the past seven years.
Mentoring a Liga MAC university student has shown me how education builds confidence, creates opportunity, and transforms lives. As Board President, I am deeply gratified to help strengthen Liga MAC and ensure its sustainability for generations of students to come.
Watching students discover their potential and pursue their dreams is a joy, and serving this community through Liga MAC has enriched my own life in ways I never expected."
“When people ask why I joined Liga MAC, my answer is simple: it’s about the kids.
Every child deserves the chance for a quality education, and Liga MAC helps make that possible with dignity, respect, and family commitment.
What inspires me most is the passion of the teachers, staff, volunteers and Board member who believe deeply in each student’s potential.
Watching young people gain confidence, discover their abilities, and begin to dream bigger is incredibly moving. Being even a small part of that transformation makes my heart tingle. Together, we are helping children build brighter futures—and that is a true privilege.”
