The Liga MAC Learning Centre is more than a building. It is where education, academic support, enrichment, health, and family services come together to help students learn, grow, and move forward with confidence.
Made possible through the generosity of donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners, the Centre brings scholarships, enrichment programs, ESL, health initiatives, mentorship, and family support together under one roof.
Here, students are welcomed and encouraged, families find support, and opportunity becomes personal.

Scholarships
Our Focus: Students in Grades 7-12.
Drop out rates in Mexico are high, driven by:
– Economic Pressures: Teens leave school to work.
– Access Issues: Limited schools & transportation.
– Quality gaps: Uneven resources.
– Low value placed on education
Each year we support ~ 300 public school students with academic promise – most first generation graduates – helping them stay in school and pursue higher education.
Our Support Includes:
-Tuition, uniforms, backpacks & supplies.
-Enrichment programs for academics & life skills
-Family participation through wellness, counseling, crisis aid & medical support.
Community Service:
Students and families give back through volunteer work.
ESL Programs
Liga MAC’s ESL program helps students in our Educational Support Program, ages 17–19, build practical English skills through engaging, interactive classes that complement what they are learning in school. Led by dedicated volunteers and facilitators, the program provides a supportive environment where students gain confidence communicating in English for both everyday life and future opportunities.
Strong English skills open doors to higher education, better employment opportunities, and meaningful connections across cultures. Just as importantly, students develop the confidence to believe in themselves, broaden their horizons, and pursue a future they may never have imagined possible.
Tutoring & Mentoring
Tutoring & Mentoring
Tutoring provides students with the academic support they need to strengthen their skills, overcome challenges, and succeed in school. Mentoring complements that support by connecting students with caring volunteers who encourage, inspire, and help them build confidence, resilience, and life skills.
Together, tutoring and mentoring do more than improve academic performance—they help students believe in their abilities, develop a vision for their future, and discover that they have the support to achieve it.
Enrichment Programs
A Workshop Designed For Girls At A Critical Age
ALAS / WINGS is designed for 12 to 15 year old girls who are part of Liga MAC’s Educational Support Program. The workshop includes five interactive sessions created to help students build confidence, understand themselves, and imagine new possibilities for their future. The program was created to help prevent school dropout and teen pregnancy by giving girls encouragement, knowledge, and support at an important stage in their lives.
A Workshop Designed For Boys At A Critical Age
The AGUILAS/EAGLES workshop was created to replicate Liga MAC’s Wings experience for boys. It helps young males develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge connected to sexuality, gender, health, masculinity, and gender violence. The goal is to help adolescents learn to care for themselves and others, develop mutual respect, and where they are going after high school graduation.
A Seminar Designed For Grade 7 Students
The SELF ESTEEM & SOCIAL SKILLS seminar is designed for Grade 7 Liga MAC students. Its purpose is to strengthen self-esteem through games and dynamics: I recognize myself, I accept myself, and I respect myself.

Medical Assistance, Health through Education, and Social Support.
At Liga MAC, we know that a child’s ability to learn is influenced by much more than what happens in the classroom. Access to healthcare, healthy living, emotional support, and a stable family environment all play a vital role in academic success. Through our Medical Assistance, Health Through Education, and Social Support programs, we help remove the barriers that can prevent students from reaching their full potential. By supporting the whole child, we create the foundation for lifelong learning, confidence, and opportunity.

Education is a journey that involves the entire family. Students are far more likely to succeed when the people who care for them have the support they need and share a belief in the value of education.
That’s why Liga MAC invests in families as well as students. Through health initiatives, family support services, and community programs, we help ease the everyday challenges that can distract from learning. By reducing barriers and strengthening the home environment, we empower families to encourage, support, and celebrate every student’s educational journey.
When basic needs are met, barriers are removed, and families are engaged, students gain the opportunity to focus on learning, discover their potential, and build a brighter future.
